Why Govern42 exists

Advising mid-sized companies on AI, one pattern kept repeating: they knew AI governance mattered, but the landscape was so broad they froze — and the only concrete help on offer was a $37.5k–85k consulting engagement they couldn't justify. Govern42 is the system I wished those companies had: honest about scope, priced for the mid-market, and built to be done, not admired.

How we work — the methodology

Orient before we anchor. We start by mapping where you sit across the 12 governance domains, so ISO 42001 lands as a focused next step — not another vague mandate.
Evidence, not intentions. Our readiness assessment credits only what you could show an auditor. It's deliberately strict, because a flattering score helps no one.
Documents that map to controls. Every template ties to a specific mandatory control, so "getting ready" becomes a concrete checklist rather than a feeling.
Stay current, not just get ready. The rules move and audits recur, so the system is built to be maintained — that's Watch.

The limits we're honest about

We're not a certification body

Govern42 prepares you. The certificate is issued only by an accredited body after an independent audit. "Audit-ready" is not "certified" — we never blur the two.

ISO 42001 is the spine, not the body

It coordinates law, ethics, privacy and strategy; it doesn't replace them. Where something sits outside 42001, we say so and point to what handles it.

Not legal advice

We provide educational orientation and preparation tools. For binding legal interpretation of the AI Act in your case, work with counsel.

Sourced and dated

Every regulatory claim is traceable to a first-party source and dated. Where we rely on analyst reporting (e.g. some SME-simplification figures), we label it as an estimate.
